Growing up, I was often considered a weirdo and introvert, making it difficult to make friends. Eventually, I found myself hanging out with a girl known to be a bully. Despite her reputation, I wouldn't cut ties with her because I craved the attention she gave me. The teasing and hitting would often happen, and I remained in this state of denialism. Just like me, many people live in denial instead of embracing their reality and seeking plausible ways to solve their problems.
When we reach a difficult point in life, Sometimes our only recourse is to run away. Running can provide a temporary escape to a utopian world to shut down and leave those problems behind. In Smallville's TV show, Superman's alter ego, Clark Kent, left his hometown to escape his past in hope to forget his troubles. Unfortunately, this only led to more emotional turmoil and a loss of his true self.
It's important to remember that while running away from our problems may be tempting, they will always catch up with us eventually. It's okay to take a break or step back for a moment, but ultimately, facing our issues head-on is the best way to overcome them.
Hope is close, but the real question is, are we willing to move away from this state of self-deceit, embrace those difficulties and find ways to tackle them, even if it takes years. If you answer yes, contact a friend or counsellor today, who can offer support and a more objective perspective. And if you're a person of faith, consider adding prayer walks as you seek professional help. Share your fears and ask for guidance on confronting your problems head-on. Remember, you're never alone in this.
It is time to leave that denial phase and face the music. The path towards growth is painful, yet the reward is fantastic.
Happy new month
Warms regards
